Perfecting your publication

For whom?

For all PhD-students and Postdocs from UT whose current level of English is approximately CEF C1-C2. It is intended for researchers who are publishing in English or are about to do so in the near future. Participants are expected to have completed the course Technical Writing and Editing first!

Wednesday 9, 16, 23, 30 May, from 14.00 till 16.30.

Group size

Minimum 6 and maximum 8 participants.

Trainer

A qualified English language teacher from TCP Language Centre.

Course fee

This course is free of charge for PhD-students and Postdocs who are working at UT. Expenses will however be charged In case of not temporal cancellation.

Result

Participants will improve their ability to edit and proofread their articles and papers for publication. Each lesson includes a variety of practical learning activities, such as analyzing, revising and editing one’s own writing. Homework each week consists of preparing and/or revising one’s own paper(s).

Four meetings from 14.00 till 16.30 hrs. plus two to four hours home work each week. Attendance at every lesson is essential.

Admission criteria

You are required to use the digital test Dialang as part of the assessment process for language proficiency. The results are based on the levels from the Common European Framework (CEF).

Please test the parts: reading, vocabulary and structures.
