Research

My main research line is on goal pursuit, i.e. how consciously or nonconsciously activated goals are pursued and influence motivation and behavior (e.g., Bittner, 2011). In recent experiments I investigated the role of positive and negative affect during goal striving.
In another line of research I am looking at effects of stereotypes on judgment and decision making, e.g. effects of age stereotypes.
