Expertise
In 2008 I graduated in Clinical Health Psychology at the University of Utrecht. My masterthesis focused on monitoring and coaching stress complaints using mobile telephones. During a six month project following my graduation I studied the feasibility and usability of an online self management program for patients with migraine. Since February 2009 I am working at the University of Twente as a PhD Student at the department of Psychology & Communication of Health & Risk.
Researchprojects
E-health in rheumatology; development and evaluation of an ‘Interactive Health Communication Application’ for people with rheumatic diseases.
During my PhD project I will focus on e-Health (electronic health) within rheumatology. Aim of the project is the development, implementation and evaluation of an online interactive health communication application for rheumatic patients. The application regards the support of rheumatic patients in coping with their disease. Tools for peer-to-peer communication, patient-provider communication and self management will be developed and tested on usability and effectiveness.
The project is set up in collaboration with Medical Spectrum Twente and is financed by Wyeth Pharmaceuticals.
The PhD project is supervised by Dr. C.H.C. Drossaert (first supervisor) and
Dr. E. Taal (second supervisor).
Prof. Dr. M.A.F.J. van der Laar will be promoter in this project.
