Expertise
Liseth Siemons graduated in 2010 from the research master ‘Social Systems Evaluation and Survey Research’ at the University of Twente. Within this master she followed the track ‘Evaluation and assessment in health and safety psychology’. A master which was related to her bachelor in psychology from which she graduated at the same university, but which also focused more broadly at doing research. Her master thesis focused on the application of item response theory (IRT) to tender joint counts in early rheumatoid arthritis patients. During her promotion she will further extend her knowledge in the area of modern psychometrics (IRT in particular). Since September 2010 Liseth is working as a PhD student at the University of Twente at the department of Psychology & Communication of Health & Risk.
Researchprojects
The PhD project aims to model disease activity in rheumatoid arthritis patients using modern item response theory.
There are still many uncertainties and measurement problems concerning individual variables in effect studies. The goal of this project is to examine whether modern item response theory (IRT) techniques can be used to model and analyze variables and processes of disease activity.
The project is supervised by:
- Mart A. F. J. van de Laar, promotor
- Peter M. ten Klooster, supervisor
- Erik Taal, supervisor
- Cees A. W. Glas, supervisor
Functions
- PhD student at the department of Psychology & Communication of Health & Risk
- Member of SWORA (Sociaal Wetenschappelijk Onderzoek bij Reumatische Aandoeningen)
