Bob Witziers Award
On June 4th, 2009 the first Bob Witziers Award for the best HRD thesis was presented to Yishu Wang for her thesis “The impact of Career Identity on Career Development”. Bob Witziers passed away May 14 2007 at the age of 48. He was a beloved member of our department and we want to keep his name in our department in memory of him.
We were honoured that the mother and sister of Bob Witziers were here.

This award is presented on a yearly basis, and the winner will receive a prize in the amount of 500 euro.
Criteria for the first “Bob Witziers Award” are:

The thesis addresses significant theoretical and/or practical concerns; |
· |
The thesis contains a solid theoretical foundation. Reasoning, argumentation, and hypotheses are logical and well developed; |
· |
The thesis employs a rigid method, and data analysis is sound; |
· |
Results and conclusions give an insight to the field of Human Resource Development with implications for research or practice; |
· |
The thesis is innovative, stimulating new ideas for future research; |
· |
The thesis is well written. |
Students who want to apply for this award should send their thesis together with a cover letter in which they describe their motivation for submission.
The letter and the thesis must be sent to the secretary of the OP&HRD department.
Also, supervisors may take the initiative to submit a thesis together with a cover letter in which they describe their motivation for submission.
If the thesis is written in Dutch, an extended English abstract is required.
In case the awarding committee cannot reach a unanimous agreement, advice will be asked from a member of the Advisory Board:
