Expertise
Sjoerd de Vries’ expertise concerns networked communication, more specific organizational and strategic communication by means of the internet. His interest is into the application of networked communication in knowledge-rich contexts. This may include communication through intranet, company portals, knowledge networks, electronic learning environments, communities, and groupware. His interest focusses on the question of how can we understand the adoption, development and of these communication forms and what factors do contribute to the effect of these?

Sjoerd de Vries is involved in three research projects:

The RiNC project: The purpose of this project is to gain insight into factors that contribute to the success of networked communication. (www.rinc.nl) |

Schooltrack: In this project we develop a coherent instrumentation for monitoring the development of educational organizations. Futhermore, we study the development of schools as learning organizations. |

Somere.nl: In this project we study the development, use and effects of social media. Our contexts of interest are: education, knowledge management, health and marketing. We valorise our work by means of www.somere.nl. |
