Cognitive Psychology 2 (192934080)

Lecturer: Dr. R.H.J. van der Lubbe

The course deals with a number of issues in the field of Cognitive Psychology, which will be considered more thoroughly by focusing on specialized literature (scientific papers and book chapters). Important issues are perception, attention, consciousness, memory, motor behavior, sequence-learning, spatial cognition, and emotion. Several physiological methods will be dealt with like EEG and fMRI. A first goal of the course is to provide further background. Another goal is to provide initial relevant knowledge for further specialization as a scientific researcher. Apart from the aforementioned issues, reading and writing skills will be trained by giving a presentation on a scientific paper and by writing a paper on the basis of fictitious data. The course will be concluded with an exam.
