The “Cooling circle”

Completed: autumn 2006

A “cooling circle” has been constructed at the Horst complex. This is a cooling pond measuring 30m long x 30m wide x 10m deep. By means of an annular conduit, the water from the basin can be used to cool all the buildings in the E&R Centre. The water from the “cooling circle” can also be used for the sprinkler systems which are being installed in the new build and renovation projects within the E&R Centre.

Third-party projects

New build student accommodation development in the Calslaan (by Housing Corporation De Veste in collaboration with Acasa). The lower ground of this building will be for staff accommodation and the top two floors will provide 157 housing units for students. The building will have a large courtyard, a glass facade and a communal roof terrace.

New build student accommodation development at Campagneplein (by Housing Corporation De Veste in collaboration with Acasa). This nine-storey building will be built between the Sports Centre and the Bastille and will provide 87 student rooms. The building is two floors high on the Boulevard side, and the red facade will be the second largest open-air climbing wall in the Netherlands. The supermarket and other shops from the old shopping centre will be located on the Boulevard side. The old shopping centre will then be knocked down.

Medical Centre. The old medical centre has been knocked down and a new build property for the Drienerlo Health and Safety Services will be built at the same location.

Euros Hanger. In collaboration with Euros and the Student Union, a new hangar will be built at the Watersports Complex. This has been made possible thanks to an exchange of grounds with Vredestein.
