Metal nanoparticles, nanochannels and nanobubbels

Metal nanoparticles, nanochannels and nanobubbles (MCEC)

This PhD project, part of the Zwaartekracht consortium MCEC (Netherlands Center for Multiscale Catalytic Energy Conversion), aims at the development of large-area arrays of noble metal nanoparticles on ceramic supports in precisely controlled geometries. These geometries will for example include short nanopores connecting the particles to the environment. For the development of the large-area arrays displacement Talbot lithography is being combined with special etching and heat treatment techniques. Furthermore the project contributes to other MCEC projects by micromachining specialized structures for e.g. bubble nucleation.
