Overijssel PhD award 2008 for Floor Wolbers
At the 47th DIES Natalis, Floor Wolbers received the Overijssel PhD award 2008 for the best thesis of the University of Twente of the last year. The award, 5000 euro, was handed by the commissioner of the Queen, mr. Geert Jansen. dr. Floor Wolbers developed a microfluidic Lab-on-a-Chip system to analyse the effect of different drugs on tumour- as well as normal cells. This Lab-on-a-Chip device enables us to better understand the cancer process and improve the current cancer therapy regime. This research has been performed in close cooperation with the Medisch Spectrum Twente.
