Valorization grant phase 1 for Bram de Moor & Loes
The Dutch Technology Foundation STW has awarded the project “fertility chip, on-chip semen analysis system” with a valorization grant phase 1. Within the MESA+ Institute for Nanotechnology a fertility chip has been developed which is used to determine the semen quality of men. Important parameters determined with a semen analysis are the concentration and motility of the spermatozoa in the semen. The microfluidic chip developed by Loes Segerink of the BIOS, Lab on a Chip group is able to determine these parameters in a reliable way.
Bram de Moor and Loes Segerink will use the grant to conduct a study into the technical and commercial feasibility of the fertility. This will be in close cooperation with the spin-off company Blue4Green.
