New Article: a Parallel single cell analysis platform
The article titled “Parallel single cell analysis (PaSCAl) microfluidic platform” by Floris van den Brink, Elmar Gool, Jean-Philippe Frimat, Johan Bomer, Albert van den Berg and Séverine Le Gac has been accepted for publication as cover article in the special issue on Microfluidics and Miniaturization of the journal Electrophoresis.
We report a prototype microfluidic device for parallel single cell analysis (PaSCAl) together with protocols for: (i) reliable, controllable, fast, reproducible, efficient and scalable trapping of living single cells (up to 85%), (ii) in situ cell staining and imaging, (iii) cell permeabilization (chemically and electrically) and (iv) extraction of the cell content into individual side channels using an EOF. All steps have been demonstrated with proof-of-principle experiments, showing the capability and versatility of our PaSCAl platform.
