Business integration with web services (265205)

TEL/INF/BIT/EL (elective) 3rd period

This course addresses the use of Web services technology to integrate distributed applications possibly across different enterprises. Web services technology has emerged in order to cope with the needs of electronic commerce, amongst others, which require the integration of distributed applications through the Internet. This course gives the principles and hands-on experience with Web services for application integration.

After completing this course successfully, the students: (i) understand and master the Web services architecture (concepts and protocols); (ii) understand the goals and challenges of application integration (iii) are capable of implementing and integrating applications with reasonable complexity using Web services technology (iv) are capable of understanding and critically evaluating new developments and trends in Web services technology.
