Mobile e-health applications and services (263100)

TEL/INF/BIT/EL (elective) 3rd period

This course will cover the area of mobile e-health (M-health) applications and services based on Body Area Networks (BAN). Technologies suitable for ambulant monitoring of health signals by means of a BAN will be discussed. During this course intra-BAN communication technologies, extra-BAN communication technologies and medical sensors required for the realisation of an M-health BAN will have to be studied. The project team will focus on the security, scalability and robustness aspects of M-health application protocols.

After completing this course a student will be able to: a) analyse existing mobile e-health services and applications, b) design new mobile e-health services and applications, and c) collaborate in a project team.

In the school year 2004-2005 this course will be given in the third period (weeks 05/2005-12/2005). More information on this course will be made available later on the Teletop site of the course.
