Implementation of network applications (265200)
TEL (B3) INF/BIT/EL (elective) 4th periodThis course has the following objectives: (i) present methods and techniques that enable one to implement a telematics system in a systematic way; (ii) get acquainted with some well-established and modern implementation environments, by studying the underlying implementation models and concepts; (iii) develop implementation skills, by providing hands-on experience with the abovementioned methods, techniques and implementation environments.
The scope of this course is 'limited' to those parts of a telematics system that are implemented in software, ranging from network protocols to distributed applications. After completing this course, students have acquired some basic knowledge and skills needed to work in development and research projects that apply or develop such software. Furthermore, the basics provided in this course facilitates students to broaden and deepen their knowledge and skills in this area. For example, by taking classes in the following advanced courses: Middleware for Distributed Objects and Protocol Engineering.
In the school year 2004-2005 this course will be given in the fourth period (weeks 16/2005-23/2005). More information on this course will be made available later on the Teletop site of the course.
