European Tournament for Dancing Students

Check out talented, beautiful costumed dancers and enthusiastic students from all across Europe, competing for the coveted trophies and the University Prize.

During the Whitsun weekend the ETDS takes place in Enschede. This is the European Tournament for Dancing Students, an event that is held twice a year in a European university town. On average more than 500 students participate, last year there were 570 (see Article Tubantia past Pentecost: http://i47.tinypic.com/2gwxgyb.jpg). These students come from different European countries (mainly from Germany and the Netherlands). During the weekend there's a fierce comeptition between the different universities as all teams try to beat each other.

As a visitor of this event, you can admire all 10 ballroom & latin dances. From a Slow Waltz to a Quickstep, and a ChaCha to a Jive. In a cozy atmosphere both inexperienced and experienced students dancers fight for the coveted trophies, but also for 'Der Tanzmaus': this mouse is won by the university that the best team performance.

The theme of this ETDS's Fantasia, so the Twentehallen are in Oriental style!
