Registering for a 3rd attempt for an exam

REGISTERING FOR A 3RD ATTEMPT FOR AN EXAM

As of the second block (1B of 2011-2012) the regulation “third exam attempt” will be applied for all UT bachelor’s students. As a result of this regulation the registration possibility for the third (or next) attempt for an exam will be automatically blocked in Osiris. This applies to all UT students, including master’s and pre-master’s students, even though this regulation is only meant for bachelor’s students. Pre-master’s and master’s students should however be able to sit the third attempt for an exam without any restrictions. Therefore there is a different procedure for (pre-)master’s students in case of registering for a third (or next) attempt for an exam.

Are you, as a pre-master’s or master’s student, planning to register for the third (or next) attempt for a particular exam? In that case: Please send an e-mail to the exam organization office of GW (department of Behavioural Sciences): TentamenBureau@GW.utwente.nl

It is important to mention the following in the e-mail:

-

Your name and student number

-

Course name, course code and date of the exam

-

Whether you are a pre-master’s or master’s student

-

Whether you are a student with a so called ‘functional disability’ and therefore make use of a special arrangement

The exam organization employee will then register you manually for that particular exam through Osiris. Osiris will not send you a confirmation message. You yourself however can check your registration in OSIRIS as soon as the exam organization employee has processed your application, which will take about a few days.

In case you do not follow the procedure mentioned above, you will not be able to register for the exam and therefore you will not be able to sit the exam.

Should you sit in the exam without being registered, then the exam will not be assessed or/and the grade will not be recorded in Osiris. Therefore it is not possible to sit an exam without a registration in Osiris (despite the amount of attempts).

Attention:

For pre-master’s students there is a limitation of maximum three exam attempts per course. You can find these regulations for the pre-master on the website:
