Dr. A.H. Flierman

President

Anne Flierman studied history at the Leiden University, where he completed his doctorate. He worked in a variety of roles, including as the Secretary-General of the Rotterdam Region, the Town Clerk of Arnhem, and as Vice-President of the Executive Board of Maastricht University. On the 1^st of August 2005 he has been appointed as the President of the Executive Board of the University of Twente.

Prof.dr. H. Brinksma

Rector

Ed Brinksma (1957) studied Mathematics at the University of Groningen and has obtained his doctorate at the University of Twente in 1988. In 1991 he has been appointed as professor by the faculty of Computer Science. From 1995 until 1997 he was nominated to be the Dean of this faculty and from 2002 until 2005 he became president of the department of Electrical Engineering, Mathematics and Computer Science. After this he worked as a Scientific Director and chair of the Embedded Systems Institute in Eindhoven, and he was affiliated as a part-time full professor of the Formal Methods and Tools group at the University of Twente. Mr. Brinksma was also affiliated to the Department of Computer Science at the Aalborg University in Denmark as an adjoint professor. As of the 1^st of January 2009 he has been appointed as Rector of the University of Twente.

Ir. K.J. van Ast

Vice-President

Kees van Ast is the Vice-President of the Executive Board since October 2005. He studied at Wageningen University and from 1976 untill1997 he worked in a variety of roles for the Dutch Ministry of Agriculture, most recently as the Director of the Agricultural Research Department. From 1997 until the summer of 2005, Mr. Van Ast held the position of the Vice-President of the Executive Board of Wageningen University and Research Centre. He has been appointed as Vice-President of the University of Twente on the 1^st of October 2005.
