ASPARI is short for Asphalt Paving Research & Innovation. It is a cooperative network of organisations that work together in research projects and technology development to improve the performance of the asphalt road construction industry. The issues around more professional approaches to asphalt paving became relevant and pressing due to changes in the business environment. Some three years ago we started talks with industry about research into the asphalt paving process and into the improvement of the asphalt road construction industry. In this year the ASPARI founders established ASPARI to bundle the ongoing activities and to confirm the network structure. Success on the 4th Euroasphalt conference [May 2008] At the 4th Euroasphalt & Eurobitume conference in Copenhagen a paper written by ASPARI was selected as one of the four "innovation cases" - out of over 200 technical papers publisched in the proceedings. ASPARI trip to South Africa [April 2008] In May 2008, Seirgei Miller and Andre Doree went to South Africa to present ASPARI's approach and projects. Invited by the Society for Asphalt Technology they gave talks in Durban, Cape Town & Pretoria.
