Mechatronics for SME - Agile mechatronics development
Description of research
The goal of the mechatronics for SME (mechSME) project is to transfer knowledge and technology of research institutes to euregional (Dutch-German) SMEs. Often there is a separation between mechatronic and robotic research and actual use of this technology in enterprise practice. The project is an EU project and is a joint effort of Dutch and German parties. Those parties consist of both research institutes and consultancy agencies.
In this research the mechSME project will be used. Experience will be gained by participating in a large number of small mechatronic projects. This experience will be compiled into a more generic project method. The title of this PhD research will be "agile mechatronic development": a fast and effective project method to tackle relative small mechatronic challenges.
The mechSME project is structured in five phases.
1. |
An exploratory talk, done by a consultance agency |
2. |
A specialized talk. In this phase research institues are involved |
3. |
Intensive advice, a detailed plan for technical realization is setup |
4. |
A feasibility study |
5. |
Development of a prototype. |
In phase 2 to 5 the University of Twente is involved in the process.
