Run-time Resource Management on Heterogeneous MPSoCs

Description of research

Scenarios in which multiple applications are running on a single, possible large-scale, system are currently analyzed at design-time to be able to provide a guaranteed quality of service. Moving resource management from design-time to run-time has benefits in terms of flexibility and cost (energy) savings. Heuristics have to be used to tackle the underlying complex, non-clairvoyant scheduling problem. Methods for performance analysis that are fast enough to be performed at run-time do not yet exist.
