SLA validation and control of Service-Oriented Systems

Description of research

Service-oriented architecture (SOA) is a central paradigm in Internet. In SOA, services provided by businesses are composed of several sub-services offered by third parties. Quantitative models for the dependability analysis as well as mechanisms for measuring and controlling Service Level Agreements (SLAs) of composite web services are lacking. This Ph.D. project will investigate how to use new network monitoring techniques, like Flexible NetFlow/IPFIX, to build a non-intrusive and scalable framework for web services SLAs validation and enforcement.
