Semantic Awareness for workflows as a means of Improving Data Quality

Description of research

In recent years, data processing from environmental sensors, has evolved towards more accountable and verifiable data processing. Data provenance and technical data quality measurements are two major recent contributions. Both approaches have a series of drawbacks, notably they contain method specific semantic assumptions which are undocumented. This project aims to address this gap introducing semantically rich annotations. The annotations aim to propagate application purpose crystallizing the semantic assumptions which are inherent in the data quality measurements.
