The institute maintains an extensive international network of contacts and working relations with academia and industry. This network includes ICT and manufacturing companies, universities and research institutes, healthcare organisations, governmental organisations, and logistics service providers. The ties within the Netherlands with Embedded Systems Institute (ESI), TNO ICT, Novay, CWI, and also with more application-oriented organizations such as the rehabilitation centre ‘t Roessingh are stronger than ever. The recognition among these institutes that we need each other to cover the whole innovation chain, each with our own expertise, is there. This unique multi-disciplinary approach makes CTIT an attractive partner in research.
Together with the three technical universities in the Netherlands, CTIT is one of the founding fathers of the Netherlands Institute for Research on ICT (NIRICT); this institute bundles the ICT research and innovation activities of the three Universities of Technology in the Netherlands. NIRICT is core-member of EIT.ICT Labs. EIT ICT Labs is a new initiative intended to turn Europe into the global leader in ICT innovation. It aims to fulfill this mission by establishing a new type of partnership between leading companies, research centres, and universities in Europe.
