Prospective students

The admission requirements for Creative Technology are simple: a VWO certificate of any kind (in Dutch: C&M, E&M, N&G, N&T) is adequate.

This entry level is uncommon for Bachelor’s s with objectives in ‘disciplinary’ engineering in the Netherlands.

The choice for admission of students of all profiles reflects our interest in teaching design, and not pure science. We intend to educate designers with a cultural interest, who understand and improve our everyday live, by working at the boundaries of the human world and the world of digital artefacts. The diverse intake is an asset for teaching and learning design. Different viewpoints and interests stimulate idea and concept generation.

Admission requirements

German students are admissible if they have taken Mathematics and English up to their Abitur (year 13). Also, they must meet the language requirements.

Students with another background (nor the Dutch nor the German system of education) need to submit their diplomas and other relevant certificates to establish the equivalence with the Dutch vwo diploma. They also must meet the language requirements:

-

Dutch students with a vwo diploma meet these language requirements.

-

Students from countries participating in the Lisbon treaty with English as a subject of their final examination, meet the language requirements.

-

Students who went to school in a system of education where the language of teaching is English, meet the language requirements. (The admissions office maintains an official list of these countries. This list is decisive.)

-

Others must explicitly prove their proficiency at IELTS 6.0 level (over all score), before admission can be granted.

Selection procedure

If you meet the general admission requirements and you have received confirmation from the Admission Office that you are or will be eligible for admission, you will have to participate in a selection procedure, since Creative Technology has a limited number of available places (an admissions quota applies).

For the 2013-2014 academic year, the Creative Technology programme will fill all of the 120 available places through decentralized selection (intake interviews).
