Switching during current academic year
If, in the course of the year, you decide to switch from the Civil Engineering programme to a higher professional education programme (HBO) in the Netherlands or to another programme at the university, you need to do the following:
- Study adviser: Inform your student adviser. Depending on the programme you're switching to, your student adviser can inform you about the procedure of (de)enrolment. Inform your mentor (if applicable) as well about your switch.
- Student Services: Request certified grade list & statement of paid tuition fees. You do not need this statement if you are switching to another programme at the UT. Student Services is located at the Vrijhof building first floor. Check their opening hours and/or phone number here.
- DUO: [only for Dutch students] Submit the change in your programme. Click here for more information on DUO.
- MoMi: [only for non-EU/EEA students with a residence permit for study purposes] Click here for more info on the procedure of the University of Twente. You need to pass 30 EC each academic year and be registered as a student. As long as you are registered as a student of the University of Twente we will execute the procedure.

quitting the programme without switching to another programme in the current academic year
If you quit the Civil Engineering programme during the academic year, you need to do the following:
- Study adviser: Inform your student adviser and (if applicable) your mentor.
- Student Services: Request certified grade list. Request a proof of de-enrolment (in case you want to cancel your housing contract and your housing providers asks for it). Student Services is located at the Vrijhof building first floor. Check their opening hours and/or phone number here.
- Study link: Make a request for termination of enrolment in Studielink.
- DUO: [only for Dutch students] Cancel your student grant & cancel your public transport card (OV-jaarkaart). Click here for more information on DUO.
- MoMi: [only for non-EU/EEA students with a residence permit for study purposes] Click here for more info on the procedure of the University of Twente. As soon as you are no longer registered as student of the University of Twente, we will inform IND.
