General information

Daniel Moody has a PhD in Information Systems from the University of Melbourne. He has held academic positions at universities around the world including the University of Iceland, Czech Technical University (Prague), University of Maribor (Slovenia), Charles University (Prague), University of Valencia (Spain), Norwegian University of Science & Technology, Monash University, University of Melbourne, University of New South Wales, Queensland University of Technology and University of Queensland.

Daniel has published over 80 papers in the IS field, covering both academic and practitioner forums. His publications have appeared in journals such as Information Systems, Data and Knowledge Engineering, Journal of Business Intelligence, Informing Science Journal, etc.


Daniel is also active as an IT practitioner and consultant. He has held IT management positions in some of Australia’s largest commercial organisations, and has conducted consulting assignments for companies around the world. He has consulted in a wide range of industries. His consulting expertise includes information management, information architecture, requirements analysis, database design, data warehousing and data quality management. He has also developed and delivered professional development seminars and training courses to practitioner groups and professional associations around the world.



Research interests

His research interests include conceptual modelling, software quality, data warehousing, decision support systems, information economics, human-computer interaction, information architecture, in-formation resource management, medical informatics and IT education.
