As a creative technologist you will have lots of career opportunities! You might be interested in pursuing a Master’s degree at the University of Twente. But you could also start your working career anywhere in the world. You may choose your career in the creative industry, product design or communication. Bachelors in Creative Technology can start their career at multinationals such as Philips, Google or Apple. Or smaller companies with a specific product or target group. But you can also choose to start your own business. In any of these fields, you will distinguish yourself by your level of technical expertise and your awareness of developments in culture and society.
Bachelors in Creative Technology can be admitted to the Master of Science in Human Media Interaction (HMI) at the University of Twente. But also the Master’s programmes Communication Studies, Electrical Engineering, Systems & Control and Industrial Design Engineering make a good connection to the Bachelor’s degree of Creative Technology. The elective courses in the third year enable you to prepare for these Master’s.
As a creative genius you are the creative mind behind technological breakthroughs. On a daily basis, you will work with a team of designers, developers, and producers to design playful solutions by using state of the art technology.
As an application designer you will design new applications for today’s products. You will be involved in different aspects of the design process: visual design (giving aesthetic appeal), concept development (accommodating human needs) or active promotion (promoting the advantages and ideas).
Games are increasingly being recognized as valuable tools for education, training and well-being. With the growing attention for ‘serious games’ you can become a specialist in storytelling, styles & visuals or interaction and experience design.
As an ambient systems developer you work on the development of large scale intelligent systems that can interact with people and the physical environment. Such systems are often part of larger structures and can respond to people’s need for safety, comfort, and information.
As a robot developer you participate in the creation of consumer robot systems. Think of robot lawn mowers and vacuum cleaners, but also of robots to help you find and recollect information, to support you in tasks, to wake you up, to guard your properties, or simply to provide fun and pleasure.
