Creative Technology (CreaTe) is a three year English bachelor’s programme that educates you to become a designer in digital technology.

Creative Design

A designer is able to create smart ideas. Creating smart ideas, calls for a different way of thinking. You need to think outside repeated patterns. With CreaTe you learn to break these patterns and make room for new ideas. You will learn to visualize complex situations and use your creativity to design smart solutions.

Smart Tools

A designer knows how to use smart tools. Smart tools are products which are intelligent by themselves. An example of such a smart tool is a sensor system. As a designer you can use these systems to make your design interact with its environment. You may also need robotics to make your design operate by itself. You know how to program digital systems, to control your design and to make it interact with its users. And you need to understand and use web technology.

Impact

A designer is motivated by the impact of a design. A successful design should blend function and visual appeal, to be attractive to its users. Therefore you need to understand the criteria for user acceptance and success. You also need to place your designs in a business context. You know how to develop business plans, to perform market research and to translate innovations into profitable opportunities. You recognize technological trends and you are able to cooperate with technical, business and marketing experts in order to turn your inventions into successful products.

With your Bachelor’s degree, you will not only have the skills and knowledge to start a business, you will also have a great portfolio of your designs to show!
