Students who registered in StudieLink as applicants for Creative Technology in September 2013, must participate in a selection interview. The selection interviews serve to establish a ranking among the applicants, based on the selection criteria for admission (see link). Only the top 120 ranked applicants are eligible for admission. The selection interviews are conducted by the Creative Technology selection committee. To be invited for an interview you must submit three documents (the precise instructions for submission will be sent to you as soon as you have registered in StudieLink.)
Resume (CV)
Your resume can be a simple one. Restrict yourself to at most a single sheet A4 (or only half a sheet). Please include:
· |
The basic information about your identity (first and last name, gender, date of birth, nationality); |
· |
Some details about your secondary school (type of school, subjects you chose, the year you started and the year you took your diploma). |
· |
Details about the period between you left school and applied for Creative Technology (if there is such a period) |
· |
A list of your activities and hobbies over the last few years. |
Motivation letter
Explain us why you chose to apply for Creative Technology. Please be concise. Make it personal. (The selection committee is convinced that Creative Technology is a very interesting programme, you don’t have to explain that). But what makes it the obvious programme for you, what will be your drive to be studying Creative Technology for three years?
Portfolio
We want you to show us (besides your cv and motivation letter) some images (or movies, or sound tracks), with accompanying text. For the selection interview we will call this material your portfolio. We will use the portfolio as a starting point for the assessment of the selection criteria
We hope that you can present us a portfolio in two sections.
· |
Firstly we are looking for things you have made or done yourself as a creative person. Technological achievements are welcome, and that may be low-tech (woodwork, LEGO) as well as high-tech (software, electronics). But non- technical achievements in e.g. music, film making, stage play, writing, gaming are important as well. |
· |
Secondly we are looking for things you have encountered which are, in your view, typically Creative Technology. So did you see a product, a website, a movie or something else which intrigued you, as being an original, beautiful, useful, or promising application of technology, please incorporate a link, a picture or a description in your portfolio. |
The format of the portfolio is up to you, but please use a standard which both Apple and Windows can handle. Try to restrict the size to 5MB.
If you have registered in StudieLink and we have received your documents, you will get an invitation for the interview with further instructions. We prefer to meet you in person at the University Campus.
We understand however that it may be impossible for you to come to Campus, at the times we scheduled for the meetings. In that case there is an option to have the interview through Skype.
