Admission requirements

If you opt for the English-language programme in Creative Technology, then you’ll be opting for design, creativity and technology! Interest in Creative Technology is growing every year, and it is growing rapidly. To ensure programme quality, we accept no more than 120 students at a time. In recent years, an average of 80 first-year students joined the programme annually.

General conditions for admission

Dutch qualifications:

You can be admitted with:

o

VWO (pre-university) diploma (no specific profile requirements)

o

HBO-P first-year (propedeuse) certificate

o

HBO Bachelor's degree

The entire programme is in English. If you have a VWO, HBO-P or HBO diploma, then you meet the language proficiency requirements.

Foreign qualifications:

Firstly, to be eligible for admission to Creative Technology you must secure an official statement from the University of Twente stating that your (foreign) diploma and/or certificate(s) are an adequate substitute for the Dutch VWO (pre-university) diploma. If you have a Dutch VWO diploma (regardless of the profile) you will automatically be eligible for admission.

Secondly, your English proficiency must be adequate. You are eligible for admission if you meet one or more of the following conditions:

your diploma was issued in a signatory country of the Lisbon Treaty and the diploma (or supplement) shows English as a subject included in the final examination (this is the case for all Dutch VWO diplomas);

·

your nationality is Australian, Canadian (English-speaking part), Irish, New Zealand, British or American (USA);

·

you were educated in Australia, Canada (English-speaking part), Ireland, New Zealand, the UK or USA for a period of at least three years at secondary-school level or higher;

·

you have an International Baccalaureate with ≥ 4 for English;

·

you have a European Baccalaureate with ≥ 6 for English;

·

you have a certificate which shows your proficiency to be at IELTS level ≥ 6.0.

The Admission Office will determine whether you meet the general admission requirements for the Bachelor’s programme in Creative Technology.

Decentralized Selection

Even if you meet the general admission requirements and you have received confirmation from the Admission Office that you are or will be eligible for admission, you will still have to participate in a selection procedure, since Creative Technology has a limited number of available places (an admissions quota applies).
